    A written history of the Crotty and Hartneady families compiled by Truda Smytheman in 1967. Includes the Crotty (O'Crotaigh) and Hartneady (O'Hairthneada) family trees as well as their respective Coats of Arms. Other related families mentioned include the O'Donnell (Cinel Connal) and McGrath (Mac Craith) families. Their respective Arms are also featured.

    Particular focus is placed on James Crotty (1856-1932) and his wife Ellen Hartneady (1860-1947) who both emigrated from Ireland to New Zealand in the early to mid-1880s and settled in Auckland. James Crotty was a native of Cappoquin (Ceapach Choinn), County Waterford, and Ellen Hartneady was from Whitegate (An Geata Ban), County Galway (now County Clare).
