  • Thanks Dad for serving your country with honour. We are so very proud of you. You served with pride and honour. You were captured and were a Prisoner of War in Italy, Germany and Poland. When you were finally released, you had to endure losing part of your lung to TB and months in the sanatorium recovering. Despite this you lived a life of greatness, humility, gentleness and kindness. Your family is your greatest legacy. We love you and miss you very much.

  • We remember you, Dad this ANZAC Day with much love and pride. We are so proud that you served your country fighting for our freedom. You paid a high price during your time as a POW, but you never complained about it and realised it was the price of your capture in Egypt. We recently came across your debriefing questionnaire after you were freed, showing that you were held in Italy at three different camps, in Germany and then in Poland. We love you Greg and Jean and family

  • Thinking of you today Dad on ANZAC Day. You gave so much so that we could live in peace in Australia and New Zealand. Serving in the desert in Egypt as an ambulance driver in one of the hottest years on record and being captured and spending four years in POW camps in Italy and Germany must have been so hard and yet you never complained. Jean and I got to attend two ANZAC services at Genesis Christian College where Lucy goes to school. Your youngest brother Vernon is one of 14 airmen remembered there and we know you would be so pleased that students there make a wreath for Vernon which they lay on ANZAC Day at their school and then send to Illogan where the students from the primary school lay it on Vernie’s grave on Remembrance Day. Your grandkids and great grandkids are so proud of you and you would be so proud of them carrying on the ANZAC tradition attending services yesterday and to

  • Remembering you and Mum today on ANZAC Day 2022. We are so proud of you and the sacrifice you made in WWII to give us the freedom we now have. We have been reading your P.O.W letters this week - you suffered so much losing your beloved brother Vernon and your Dad during that time but you never complained and you just got on an lived your life as a great example to us all. You would be so proud of all your beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren and would be amazed to know that at Genesis Christian College where your great granddaughter Lucy attends there is a memorial plaque to honour Vernon and his supreme sacrifice. Your legacy lives on in your family. We love you so very much Greg and Jean xx

  • Honouring you today for your service as an ambulance driver in WWII in Egypt. You were captured and spent three and a half years in POW camps in Italy and Germany. We can’t even imagine what it was like to face that, but are so proud of you and all you scarified to give us our freedom. We looked at all your photos today and read your POW letters - so much courage and ever the gentleman. We love you so much and miss you every day. Always remembered by us all. Your loving son Greg and daughter-in-law Jean
