DIVA was a dazzling celebration of the artists who have captivated audiences around the world, driven change, and redefined culture. This spectacular international exhibition came exclusively to Auckland Museum from the V&A in London.

Featuring over 280 objects, including the show-stopping costumes worn by the stars themselves, DIVA explored the power, ambition, and artistry of some of the most iconic performers in history.

DIVA featured the looks and legends of the names that needed no introduction, including Cher, Madonna, Tina Turner, Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Björk, Billie Eilish and many more.

DIVA exhibition at Auckland Museum

From exquisite couture gowns and breath-taking costumes to intimate personal items, visitors were able to journey through the worlds of some of history’s most magnetic performers, and find out how the very idea of “diva” has been redefined over time.

We were transported to Glastonbury, the Met Gala, and the Academy Awards - right here at Auckland Museum. It featured garments from the all time greats of fashion; from Bob Mackie to Valentino, Maison Margiela to Vivienne Westwood and more, DIVA was your chance to examine their unparalleled design artistry up-close and in-person.
