Most people think of art as paintings or statues, right? But what if we told you art can also look like food, and you can see it in a museum?

Just for Mini Members, we’ve got a special chance for you to meet Bev Moon, an artist whose work is all over Aotearoa New Zealand — and some of it even looks like food! Bev will show us her artwork at the Arts of Asia gallery, explain how she creates it, and share why she loves knitting her pieces.

Then, get ready to make your own food-inspired artwork with Bev! You’ll use everyday materials to create your own delicious creations from around the world. Ever wanted a blue hamburger? A blue hamburger? Sure thing. A hotdog with no bun? Ok! Dim sum? Yes please!

Suitable for ages 5+, and no child can be left unattended. Mini Members 13 years and under need to be accompanied by a grown-up, don't forget to book them a ticket!

Hi, I'm Bev Moon!

I’m an artist, which means I love looking at the world in a different way. Artists make things that help us think differently about what we see and hear, and sometimes, art is not just pictures – it can be sound, movement, words, or even digital. Art can be something you hear, touch, or experience in a whole new way!

Join me for a special, hands-on adventure! I’ll show you some of my knitted food treasures on display at the Museum, and then you’ll have a chance to create your very own pretend food artwork to take home. It's going to be a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see what awesome creations we make together!
