Pick up a free trail from Te Ao Mārama, our South Atrium, and glide through the galleries with your whānau seeking high and low for marvellous mangō (sharks).

We all love the moana (ocean) and the amazing creatures that call it home. Shark Quest celebrates a family of fishes that you may know some things about, but there’s always more to discover.

Shark Quest is packed with activities, facts and clues to help you on your journey. Plus, completed quests go into the draw to win a sharktastic prize pack!

Shark Quest is suitable for all the whānau, featuring two self-guided routes for different ages:

Shark Seeker may be better for cool young kids who like a game of hide and seek. Seek images of sharks that have snuck into our galleries. As you find each one, match them to the ones on your trail, ticking them off as you go.

Shark Tales is the name of the game if you’re hungry for fabulous facts and stories about sharks, and shark-related objects in our galleries.

You can decide to do either route or both. Pick your own path, but keep those eyes peeled for stealthy sharks.
