Volume 58 marks our first issue since relaunching on a new platform under our new name, Papahou: Records of the Auckland Museum. This issue begins with a welcome to the refreshed journal, followed by a broad range of article types.  Article subjects include the translation of Ferdinand Hochstetter’s 1859 field diary from Coromandel and Waiheke Island, a personal account of flood-damaged kitchen appliances donated to Auckland Museum, the contributions of digital volunteers in preserving New Zealand’s military history, and the scientific analysis of The Music Lesson painting to verify its authenticity and origin.
