Volume 59 opens with an editorial reflecting on the past decade of open collections at Tāmaki Paenga Hira, Auckland War Memorial Museum. The articles that follow provide in-depth insights into a range of the Museum’s collections, including Roman coins from the Numismatics collection, The Book of BiFiM and the photographic archive of Gil Hanly, within Documentary Heritage.

The issue also features two contributions focused on museum practice: one considers the development of a digital public engagement exhibition using novel health data, while the other examines the application of data systems to support pest management.

Together, these contributions highlight the diversity of research, documentaton and applied practice taking place across The Museum.
