Whether you're after a quick bite and a coffee on-the-run, a lingering long lunch or a celebratory high tea, Tuitui Museum Bistro & Café is Auckland Museum's new destination for food and drink.

1929 Espresso Bar

Whether you're after a quick bite and a coffee on-the-run, 1929 Espresso Bar offers a range of sweet and savoury treats, from muffins, cakes and pastries, to pies, sandwiches and wraps, plus a variety of hot and cold beverages including frappes, smoothies, juices and coffee.

Bring Your Own Kai

In addition to our two dining outlets, the South Atrium is also home to the Kai Room, a place where you and your whānau can bring and eat your own food. Located on the western side of Te Ao Mārama (next to Hokohoko, the Museum Store), there are plenty of tables and chairs and some kitchen facilities for our visitors to use, including highchairs for your little ones and a baby bottle/food warmer.

Help us protect our collections

Did you know that food and drink can be major threats to our collections? Food or drink are not allowed into the galleries, as they could attract pests that will damage our precious taonga. There are self-service lockers where you can leave bags with food while you explore the Museum.
