TUAIKAEPAU, a Tongan dance group from Manurewa High School, is a dynamic collective of 50 passionate students deeply rooted in Tongan culture. With a shared love for faiva fakatonga (traditional Tongan performing arts) and hiva fakatonga (Tongan singing), this group showcases the richness of their heritage through powerful dance and song. Their performances feature traditional Tongan dances such as the graceful tau’olunga and the energetic mako, both of which are integral to Tongan celebrations and rituals.

TUAIKAEPAU’s performances are more than just dance; they are an expression of pride and connection to Tongan identity. Alongside their dances, the group also honors the legacy of Tongan music by singing traditional folk songs, These songs are a testament to the cultural depth and history of Tonga, and TUAIKAEPAU preserves them with great respect and devotion.
